Services
Following are the primary services that we perform for our clients. Let us know about your project and with our expertise we can help guide you into the next step, whether it be one of these service or something unique to your situation.
Forestry Mulching
Forestry mulching is a land-clearing method that uses a piece of machinery to selectively cut trees and brush, clearing unwanted vegetation while leaving behind a fine layer of mulch that is both functional and aesthetically pleasing. It creates access to overgrown property as well as reducing fuel loads in order to provide defensible space as a preventative measure from wildfires. Forestry mulching is more efficient than using hand crews with chainsaws, while more cost-effective than bulldozing and hauling the vegetation. The compact track loader can access densely forested areas that limit larger machinery.
This single-machine, single-operator method can reduce stumps and stems flush to the ground, leaving a drivable surface. The mulch product that is left behind provides erosion protection and reintroduces nutrients into the soil. Forestry mulching is ecologically friendly and less disruptive than other clearing methods; the land is not left scarred or burned.
Defensible Space
This service is a product for land management that is achieved by reducing the fuels on properties to ensure adequate spacing in anticipation of a wildfire. The reduction of dense fuel loading is necessary to protect life and property for those isolated in the wilderness or located in the wildland/urban interface. Without defensible space, wildfires spread at a rapid rate even without additional driving forces such as wind or topography. Without defensible space, the protection of properties and lives is not only dangerous, but nearly impossible.
Forest Thinning and Timber Stand Improvement
Managing timberlands is a very important task that should be done. Proper spacing and thinning can reduce overcrowding and relieve tree stress. This helps maintain the health and vigor of the forest. A big threat that we face every year in the western states are wildfires. Thinning will reduce fire hazards and slow or possibly extinguish a fire's rate of spread. These practices give property owners the usability factor that their land provides whether it be for recreational use or viewing pleasure. Timber stand improvement practices are performed by removing trees of undesirable form, quality, condition, growth rate, or species. Removing these trees will stimulate growth of more desirable stems and species and can increase timber profits (value of remaining trees) to forestland owners.
Timber Felling
This is a specialty service that we provide. We have highly experienced timber fellers that offer all professional felling needs including:

-
Production felling on logging operations
-
Hazard tree removal on wildfires
-
Large and complex trees for forest thinning
-
Lot clearing projects
-
Dangerous or technical tree removals for home or property owners
When trees are too big or too dangerous to use standard equipment and techniques, we are qualified to help you tackle the most complex of projects.
Logging
We provide logging services throughout the Sierra Nevada's for numerous circumstances. This includes salvage logging on properties damaged by wildfire, flood, severe wind, disease, insect infestation, or other natural disturbance in order to recover economic value that would otherwise be lost. We also offer selective logging where profitable growth can still be harvested, but healthy tree spacing is left to promote increased growth rates, protect the property from wildfire, and increased property usability.
Wildfire Cleanup
The work does not end when a wildfire is extinguished. It is important to remove the detritus and implement restoration efforts as soon as possible. Not only are burned forests aesthetically unpleasing, but they are very dangerous. The compromised trees pose an imminent threat for falling, further damaging life and property. Once the skeletons of burned trees and vegetation are removed, restoration efforts can be put into place to include replanting trees and vegetation as well as initiating erosion control. This will restore forest health and habitat while preventing further catastrophic events.
